Sretenje Workshop at the Dedinje Institute

On February 13, 2026, the Sretenje Workshop was held at the Dedinje Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases as a professional educational event dedicated to modern techniques in vascular and endovascular surgery.

The program was led by Academician Prof. Dr. Milovan M. Bojić, Director of the Dedinje Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Slobodan Tanasković, Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery. A special expert role in the workshop was held by Prof. Dr. Zoran Rančić as consultant and collaborator of the Institute’s Aortic Center.

The plenary session included lectures by Dr. Vladimir Kovačević on planning and sizing in EVAR procedures, Clinical Assistant Dr. Igor Atanasijević on EVAR technique, Prof. Dr. Zoran Rančić on the REBOA technique in ruptured abdominal aorta, a presentation of the Dedinje Aortic Center’s experience by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Predrag Matić, and a lecture by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Slobodan Tanasković on eversion carotid endarterectomy.

The central part of the workshop consisted of practical sessions held at the Dedinje Center of Excellence, organized in rotating small groups. Participants completed hands-on modules with EVAR simulators, VR technology, and carotid 3D models under expert supervision.

The workshop concluded with a joint discussion, summary of conclusions, and certificate ceremony, reaffirming the importance of continuous education and the integration of advanced technologies in improving vascular surgery and patient safety.

The Sretenje Workshop represents an important step in strengthening the educational mission of the Dedinje Institute as a regional center of excellence in cardiovascular medicine.
