The NextGen Cardiac Surgery Skills Academy was held in Belgrade, organized by the Serbian Society for Cardiovascular Surgery. The program was designed for residents and young specialists in cardiac surgery and anesthesiology, with the goal of advancing their practical skills.
The event brought together representatives of leading healthcare institutions from across the country, including the University Clinical Center of Serbia, the Dedinje Cardiovascular Institute, the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases of Vojvodina, the Military Medical Academy, the Institute for Mother and Child Healthcare, and the University Children’s Hospital Tiršova, as well as partners from Medtronic, MediRay, Peters Surgical, LSI Solutions, MedHealth, and Aptus.
The program included lectures and hands-on workshops in the fields of cardiac surgery and anesthesiology, covering topics such as creating anastomoses, the use of the Enclose device for proximal anastomosis, surgical aortic valve replacement with the Avalus biological prosthesis using the Ram and Cor Knot systems, airway management, emergency interventions, and percutaneous techniques.
